EACTS and Dendrite launch “EACTS Daily News” at Annual Meeting - Submitted: 20th September 08

At this year’s annual meeting of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), the Association and Dendrite Clinical Systems proudly launched the first “EACTS Daily News” – the official newspaper of the meeting. Published by Dendrite, four daily issues of the newspaper were made available to over 2,500 delegates.

The newspaper was designed to be a platform for faculty to highlight the key messages of their presentation/s, as well as outlining important sessions and debates. As the premier cardio-thoracic conference in Europe the meeting consists of concurrent sessions. As a result, delegates are unable to be present at all sessions. The EACTS Daily News allowed delegates to ‘catch up’ on sessions they were unable to attend and read about the latest developments at the conference.

“The newspaper was a tremendous success and I would like to thank all the contributors to the newspaper for their efforts,” said A P Kappetein, MD, PHD, Secretary General of EACTS. “I would also like to thank our partners from industry for their support in this exciting venture.”

As well as highlighting key presentations, EACTS Daily News announced Jean-Marie Vogel as the winner of 2008 Techno-College Award. The newspaperalso acted as an important communication medium allowing industry to highlight their satellite symposia, product news and additional company announcements.
