British Obesity and Metabolic Specialist Society

Dendrite has been working closely with the British Obesity and Metabolic Specialist Society since 2008 and launched the UK National Bariatric Surgery Registry (NBSR) in 2009. The NBSR now holds well over 100,000 individual bariatric surgery record procedures performed in both the NHS and in private practice.

The NBSR has demonstrated that bariatric surgery is very safe and provides patients with not just sustained weight loss, but multiple other medical benefits – including the long term reduction is use of medication for diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidaemia and depression along with significantly improved functional status and reduction in the need for joint replacements.
