National Institute for Health and Care Excellence

By Owen Haskins | August 19, 2025

NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) selected Dendrite as their preferred supplier of choice to set up the R.O.P.E. study – a Registry of Prostate Artery Embolisation (PAE). This was a prospective, multi-centre, propensity matched study comparing PAE with standard transurethral surgical therapy for symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia.

The results of this study showed that PAE was clinically effective, with patients seeing a faster return to normal activities compared to surgery and this was published publicly in the BBC News.
