Report
1st Report 2004 - ROST - Registry of Oesophageal Stenting
This report is of value for interventional radiologists to have such a registry to give a snapshot of practice, which details not only the indications for a procedure but also the outcome in terms of success and complications.
This reports demonstrates that oesophageal stent insertion by radiologists is safe and effective. However, a large variety of stents are being used on the basis of operator preference rather than scientific evidence. Re-intervention is frequently required, either involving endoscopy or further stent placement and the incidence increases with time after stenting.
